Junior Racers Show Their Stuff

Five junior racers showcased their skills for the capacity crowd last Thursday. The 5 competed in a 15 lap scratch race and a 24 lap points race.  All 5 racers competed in the category 4/5 men's races or the women's races as well, giving them plenty of race experience.  Peter Behm (Bianchi/Grand Performance) set the standard, winning both juniors races.  His 12 points in the points race edged Alexander Heide (sub11).  Behm's teammate, Noah Rahn took second in the scratch race behind Behm.  The final omnium standings for the juniors were:

Peter Behm, Bianchi/Grand Performance: 10 points
Alexander Heide, sub11: 5 points
Noah Rahn, Bianchi/Grand Performance: 5 points
Anya Malarski, Gopher Wheelmen:1 point
Valerie McGoldrick, MNJRC:1 point

Muscle Milk Miss 'N Out Leads Full Thursday Schedule

This week, the Muscle Milk Miss 'N Out caps a full slate of popular races.  The women will contest another Queen of the Sprints keirin while the elite racers reach for the MN State Championship medal in the Madison. Gabe Masiulis (Omnium) currently leads the Miss 'N Out with 11 points followed closely by Matt Allen (Behind Bars/LGR) and Eric Jorgenson (Omnium). Linsey Hamilton  (Speedfix) maintains her lead in the Queen of the Sprints series with a healthy lead over Emma Bast (Speedfix) and Terra James (Sweet & Salty).  Defending Madison State Champion, Andy Kruse (Speedfix), is without his partner, Derek Virta (Speedfix), leaving a possible opening for 2011 silver medalists Dan Casper/Brandon Krawczyk (Revolution/Twin Six).
